Getting data from a utility could be difficult.  Even if your utility supports the Green Button data standard, there are still requirements for obtaining and documenting authorization from the customer.

Fortunately, UtilityAPI helps make this easy with a service by creating an authorization request that you could send to your customer.  Once your customer grants you access, and you can download both interval usage and billing data for their meter.

We’ve just completed an integration of UtilityAPI with opentaps which automates the process of creating an authorization and then importing the meter  interval data and bills into your site’s meter.  This makes it easy to then perform measurement & verification (M&V) on the site’s energy use and prove that the customer is really saving energy.
