These are tests for the Funambol Data Synchronization server in opentaps. "Outlook" refers to Microsoft Outlook but can be any client device, including Outlook and Evolution or a mobile phone, which has a SyncML client.

New opentaps Contacts to Outlook

opentaps New Contact

Action

Create new contact with full name, address, email, web url, telephone number. Synch.

Result

New contact with first name and last name created in Outlook.

opentaps New Account

Action

Create new account with company name, address, email, web url, telephone number in opentaps. Synch.

Result

New contact with company name created in Outlook.

opentaps New Lead

Action

Create new lead with first name, last name, company name, address, email, web url, telephone number in opentaps. Synch.

Result

New contact with first name, last name, company name created in Outlook.

New Outlook Contacts to opentaps

New Outlook Contact to opentaps Contact

Action

Create new account with first name, last name, address, email, web url, telephone number in Outlook. Synch.

Result

New contact with first and last name created in opentaps.

New Outlook Contact to opentaps Account

Action

Create new account with company name, address, email, web url, telephone number in Outlook. Synch.

Result

New account with company name created in opentaps.

New Outlook Contact to opentaps Lead

Action

Create new account with first name, last name, company name, address, email, web url, telephone number in Outlook. Synch.

Result

New lead with first and last name, company name created in opentaps.

Two Way Synchronizations

The following tests should work whether the change happens in opentaps or Outlook. When the change is made in one system, a corresponding change should occur in the other:

  • Create/add phone number
  • Create/add email address
  • Create/add postal address
  • Update phone number
  • Update email address
  • Update postal address
  • Expire/remove phone number
  • Expire/remove email address
  • Expire/remove postal address

Things to watch out for:

  1. Make sure that the data item (phone, email, address) being changed is updated correctly in the other system after the synch
  2. Make sure that the purpose of the data item is synched correctly. For example, a fax number created in opentaps becomes a fax number in Outlook.
  3. Make sure that the remaining data in both the original and the new systsem are correct.

Removing and Deactivating Contacts

Action

Remove a contact in Outlook. Synch.

Result

The lead/account/contact is deactivated in opentaps and can no longer be found in opentaps CRM.

Action

Deactivate a lead/account/contact in opentaps. Synch.

Result

The lead/account/contact is removed from Outlook.
